It includes 4 cyphers out of which only one has been solved. Despite so many clues, the case remains open today. A Wikipedia search will mention 12 suspects. So who is the Zodiac Killer?

This is what the David Fincher movie Zodiac (2007) is all about. You might come across it on Netflix, and think of it as something related to Zodiac signs (like yours truly). If you choose to read the description, you would imagine it to be some killer murdering people based on Zodiac signs. But wait the movie has nothing mediocre or predictable to offer!

Based on one of the most notorious serial killers in history, the movie is an adaptation of two books. The screen is mostly shared by two homicide detectives, a crime reporter, and a political cartoonist. The four undertake a decade long search of the Zodiac Killer. A powerful cast paves the way to a magnificent adaption. This includes Jake Gyllenhall, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey Jr. in the lead, allowing Fincher to brilliantly portray each character.  The remarkable efforts by David & Co. make sure that the illustrated American culture is convincing. The pace of the movie is slow and it is mostly based on dialogues. However, the spine chilling basement scene makes it worth it a watch. The terror inflicted by a maniac left loose gradually converts into the terror that a viewer experiences in the scene.

The movie is among the many popular culture pieces that revolve around the series killer. The movie’s portrayal of criminal obsession and the following execution makes it worthy of all the critical appreciation it received. In reality, it was a cartoonist’s obsession that leads him to probably a major ‘suspect’. He later documented this in his two books. Subsequently, allowing Fincher to turn it into a great thriller!

According to some people, more than one person was involved. Moreover, the Zodiac Killer was never found. The movie has actually no ending. The case is still not closed. So who is the Zodiac Killer?
