The Sky-High Cut-offs

For UG courses, DU cut-offs have been constantly increasing for the past few years. Last year, the cut-offs were as high as 100% for some colleges. The Lady Sri Ram College for Commerce had released its cut off-list at 100% for some honours UG courses in 2020.

Therefore, this year students are anticipating high cut-offs for obvious reasons.

DU colleges set very high cut-offs to prevent “over admissions”. According to the rules, no college cannot turn away a student who has made the cut-off. There is no first-come, first-serve rule. Due to a high number of registrations, this year colleges will increase the number of seats to accommodate all eligible students.

The university is expected to release at least a minimum of 6 cut-offs every year. The 2021 cut-off marks will be determined on the basis of the best of four marks in the qualifying exam, i.e., class 12th.

Last year, Delhi University’s academic session started on October 18. However, this year’s planner has not yet been made official.
