Sidney Sheldon had a sparse, almost journalistic writing style. He did not linger heavily on detail, except where it was really essential to setting a scene. He was very good at setting up a mystery and constructing a story, as well as drawing believable characters quickly and efficiently.¬† Also, a lot of his dialogue was very dry and bare-bones, giving just information to keep the story moving but not revealing a great deal about the characters’ inner thoughts or motivations. Please note this is very much my own personal opinion, and other readers may disagree, strongly or otherwise.
