A comedy makes you smile but a good comedy does more than that. It doesn’t let you stop laughing out loud and keeps you in your seats, and no matter how many times you watch it, it gives you intense pleasure and joy.
Same is with the new release GOOD NEWZZ. This movie fulfils your all expectations from the trailer. Lill tacky and predictable but the movie keeps a balance between drama which gives you lol moments and keeps your humour stream flowing. The trailer and clips makes the plot of movie predictable but still don’t let you go away from the screen.
Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor are Varun and Deepti Batra, an upscale urban couple who are out to have a baby through IVF. At the clinic, they come across another young couple – the very desi duo of Honey (Diljit Dosanjh) and Monika (Kiara Advani) – who are incidentally also Batras.
The likeness of their surnames is what gives the story its wild twist. Deepti and Monika are successfully impregnated, all right. But the clinic has goofed up between the two pairs of Batras. Deepti’s egg has been fertilised by Honey’s sperm, while Monika ends up carrying Varun’s child.
This wild twist takes the movie turn into a comedy of error. GOOD NEWWZ has an interesting plot, but most importantly, it boasts of a smart and engaging screenplay. The writers juxtapose drama, emotions, romance and humour seamlessly in the narrative, which makes this one an enjoyable ride from commencement to conclusion.
So, while the word SPERM is considered a taboo in indian society, this mix up of SPERMS gave us a roller coaster ride of comedy.
