International women’s day, observed on 8th of March every year celebrates the social, cultural, political and economic achievements of women from all walks of life. It is a day which commemorates the women’s movement for their rights.

In the past one year, we as a society have witnessed global activism for women’s equality fuelled by movements like #Metoo and #Timesup drawing widespread attention and action. Drawing inspiration, the theme for women’s day this year is :
#TimeIsNow: Rural and urban activists transforming women’s lives.

As we proceed as a generation, moreover as a society everyday, it becomes more important for the women to be empowered, to be recognized, to be seen in equal nature in every field. And not let the male hegemony prevail, not let the feminine gender live deprived of the basic human rights which every individual is entitled to irrespective of gender.

Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist once explained, ”The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.”

So let us vow to make International Women’s Day OUR day and do what we can to truly make a positive difference for women. A huge shout-out to all the ladies out there! You’re beautiful. Your contribution matters. Your rights are your own. Keep fighting and never let anyone make you feel otherwise.

A very Happy International Women’s day to all you beautiful ladies out there from our team!
