International women’s day, observed on 8th of March every year celebrates the social, cultural, political and economic achievements of women from all walks of life. It is a day which commemorates the women’s movement for their rights.

In the past one year, we as a society have witnessed global activism for women’s equality fuelled by movements like #Metoo and #Timesup drawing widespread attention and action. Drawing inspiration, the theme for women’s day this year is :

As we proceed as a generation, moreover as a society everyday, it becomes more important for the women to be empowered, to be recognized, to be seen in equal nature in every field. And not let the male hegemony prevail, not let the feminine gender live deprived of the basic human rights which every individual is entitled to irrespective of gender.
