The music in us manifests itself in the weirdest of ways- sometimes it remains hidden deep down within and sometimes, it overpowers our being. There is music within all of us, and there’s a lot we owe to it. To celebrate this music within each one of us, that sears through differences and makes us one, Alankaar- the Indian Music Society of Hindu College presents, MEHFIL, in collaboration with T-Series Stageworks Academy.
The event will commence with an interactive workshop by Mr. Sanjay Vidyarthi from T-Series Stageworks Academy. Owing to his mastery at the art, Mr. Vidyarthi has made it his mission to hone the musicality in one and all. Drawing from his huge experience as a ‘singing guru’, he would provide the attendees with insights that would aid them in growing as musicians. Whether trained or untrained, this workshop will help our guests realise their true worth. We encourage all budding musicians to attend this event to witness the grandeur of music, right from the very basics to the most intricate embellishments that serve to adorn our lives. In addition to this rich experience, all those in attendance, would get certificates on behalf on T-Series.
Following this musical high the next part of the event is a cultural evening and alumni meet. Our own alumni, Sh. Soumitra Thakur, an Internationally acclaimed Sitar player, Sh. Alankar Mahtolia, an esteemed singer and Sh. Shankarjyoti Saikia, displaying his finesse on the Tabla, would be performing in their home turf for the very first time. To celebrate reminisces, intricately weaved with soul stirring music, to celebrate the very idea of what makes us ‘Alankaar’, this event, is aimed at being a fostering ground for a family brought together with music.
