Ankiv Baisoya’s admission in DU’s Buddhist Studies Department was cancelled on 14th November 2018 itself, one day before the ABVP suspended him.The big decision was taken on the basis of Thiruvalluvar University’s written letter in which it was claimed that Baisoya’s graduation mark sheet was fake.
Prior to this, the HoD of Buddhist Department,KTS Sarao asked for a verification of Baisoya’s documents. Responding to his plea, TU Controller of Examination,B Senthilkumar penned a letter on 13th November. He mentioned, “With reference to the above, it is informed that the copy of the certificate of the following candidate has been verified and found that the said certificate is not genuine. It is a fake certificate”, as reported by The Indian Express.
“Baisoya’s admission was cancelled on November 14 as soon as the letter was received, in a meeting of the admission committee, and all authorities concerned, including the police, were informed of the same” a DU official told¬†Indian Express.
The matter has also become a subject of political mockery. Rahul Gandhi, the Congress President tweeted on the matter, targeting BJP by calling this entire episode a ‘Farzical Strike’.
Aakash Choudhary (DUSU Secretary) from NSUI has called for fresh elections, in a Memorandum submitted to the Vice-Chancellor on Friday.
