Banaras Hindu University is in headlines again for the safety of female students when a student of BHU was arrested on Thursday for ‘slapping and dragging’ his female classmate.The authorities are already facing a lot of criticism on national as well as international stage when nearly  month ago the BHU campus was on fire on the failure of authorities to take actions over allegations of eve-teasing on the campus.
According to the BHU PRO Rajesh Singh, the victim had informed the chief proctor of the accused ‘slapping and dragging’ her when she was going to meet a professor of the Faculty of Social Sciences and then filed a complaint at the Lanka police station. The administration took major steps and handed the accused to the police who was then booked under relevant IPC sections , as informed by station officer Sanjeev Mishra.
BHU Is under limelight because of regular cases of molestation by the female students and the students hope that the change in V-C happened on the campus.
