Another fake DU notice surfaced on social media, stating that the University of Delhi is reopening on January 7, 2021. Meanwhile, the varsity has declared the notice fake in a statement.
Days after the University of Delhi exposed a fake notice saying that the varsity would reopen from January 3, a second one has come up, stating that DU will reopen from January 7. The university has yet again given a statement saying that the official reopening date is confirmed, it would be released as a statement on DU’s official website, du.ac.in as per the Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines.
- What did the fake DU reopening notice say?
The second fake DU notice stated:
“It is hereby notified for information of all concerned that the university for all undergraduate courses shall reopen in physical mode from January 7, 2021.”
It further added: “Students can download the time-table for the new semester, which will be made available on their respective college websites. Any notification/ orders issued without the due approval of Professor PC Joshi are null and void.”
However, rejecting the claim, Delhi University has informed that DU has not made any such announcement.

- What about DU online classes?
Online classes are being continued for the students of DU and a contactless admission process is going simultaneously in progress for enrolling students of the 2020-21 academic batch.
Earlier on December 24, 2020, the varsity had issued a similar notification warning students not to be misled by the fake DU reopening notices on social media. The notice issued on December 24 clarified a notice being circulated on social media saying that Delhi University will reopen for students for face-to-face classes from January 3, 2021.
