Chargesheet Filed Against Two Men For Molesting DU Student In Connaught Place

The Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet against two men for allegedly molesting a Delhi University student at Connaught Place where she had gone to shop with her uncle. On questioning, the teenager claimed that the duo was passing indecorous comments at her, but they turned aggressive when she ignored and neglected them. The two were then grabbed by the onlookers and the uncle and handed over to the police.

Police said that they were informed around 9:30 pm on wednesday by the girl’s uncle. The culprits have been identified as Ankit (24) and Praveen (25). A case under sections 354,509 and 34 of the IPC was lodged at the Connaught Place police station. The culprits were jobless youth and had travelled to Connaught Place to meet some friends when they misbehaved with the girl.

The complainant, in her statement to the Police, said that she had gone to visit her uncle in central Delhi after which she went to Connaught Place to take a metro ride back home in West Delhi. It was on the entrance of the metro station that the incident occurred. She somehow managed to alert her uncle and the passerby through the commotion created.

A case has been lodged against the duo and have been taken into police custody.
