Recently, Delhi University has released the data of the number of applicants for admission in the year 2021. As per the official data released, over 3.18 lakh students have enrolled themselves in Delhi University through the online portal. The varsity commenced its undergraduate admission process on 2nd August, 2021, which will continue till 31st August, 2021.
As per the data, a total of 3,18,158 candidates have registered in different undergraduate courses. Till now, only 1,47,435 have made the payment. The statistics of the registration numbers reveal that the maximum number of applicants belong to CBSE Board. A total of 1,21,796 candidates are from CBSE, followed by 4,817 frim ICSE, 4,723 from Haryana Board and 2,984 from UP Board. The least number of registrations have been received from Himachal Pradesh Board, i.e., 435.
Out of the candidates who completed the payment process, the number of male applicants is 65,507 and that of female applicants is 82,155.
The highest number of applicants are from Delhi-NCR with 20,398 applicants while the lowest number is from Cuttack and Shillong with 10 applicants each.
Additionally, the university has received 8,333 applications under the category of extracurricular activities and 5,187 applications under the sports category. The admission process of these two categories will be done based on certifications. The varsity does not plan to hold offline trials due to the pandemic.
As for the postgraduation admission, 1,37,084 applicants have registered so far out of which 73,917 have completed the form while 20,590 forms are incomplete.
