Are you a Delhi University aspirant, setting your eyes on the coolest campus? Then tighten your shoelace because you‚Äôll need a lot of energy before you actually step into the college of your dreams.First things first, register kiya? Did you just say ‚Äúno‚Äù? Not to fear, there’s still time my buddy but be alert otherwise the tick tock of the form may stop by the time you get going. It‚Äôll be roller coaster ride and ‚ÄúBas thoda sarkari kaam wali feel aayegi‚Äù¬† but in the end, you‚Äôll be sorted!

Here’s all that you need to know and gauge just before entering the Delhi University Admission Procedure-

Apply online-

The Delhi University common application form 2016 for all Undergraduate courses (UG) offered by various colleges under Delhi University will be available from 28th May 2016 to 16th June 2016,according to media reports, offline forms would also be available.

Registrations for courses where admission is on the basis of an Entrance Exam are already going on and will accept applications till 31st May 2016.

Also, the good news is that you don’t have to fill a separate form for St. Stephens College and Jesus and Mary College this year. And the bad one being, both the colleges would still continue with their own admission process which would be available on their respective websites.

Handle with care-

Like all fragile items¬†(jo mummy touch karne se mana karti hai),the Delhi University Admission Form also needs to be handled with care.Do not rush or panic, just patiently fill the form and re check it a number of times before submitting because remember ‘there’s just no turning back‚Äô.The task of successful registration reaches its completion only when you click on the confirmation link sent to your mail by DU.

Race till you win-

With the cutoff system,it almost seems like a race where someone reaches earlier and the other one a little later, but everyone does reach somewhere in the end.So this year the first cutoff list is scheduled for 22nd June 2016 as per media reports.Unlike last year, this year there would be only 5 cutoff lists following which the colleges would follow their own admission process which would be informed beforehand.

Keep it Handy-

In order to avoid last-minute turmoil, be prepared with the photocopies of the following –

  1. Recent passport size photographs

  2. ID proof (Aadhar Card,Voter ID card,Driving License etc.)

  3. Class 10th Certificate and Marksheet

  4. Class 12th certificate and Marksheet

  5. Caste certificate ( if any reserved caste)

  6. Transfer certificate

  7. Migration certificate

  8. Character certificate

The Admission stage-

Usually,Delhi University provides 3-4 days for taking admission in any Delhi University affiliated college after the cutoff list is released. At this time, there is a lot of apprehension among students regarding their eligibility for a certain list. The stark reality is that once you miss out your chance in one list then drop the idea of getting admission to that college in the next one.For instance, if your score of 94.25% makes you eligible for a particular college in the second list but you don’t manage to take admission there within the stipulated time, then it’s gone forever.Try for some other college then.

Juggling between colleges-

There may come a time where you plan to take admission in one college just to hold a seat and in the next lists you manage to get through your desired one. When you go there for admission, don’t forget to collect the original documents which you had submitted in the previous one.Believe me,it creates a ruckus.

No cheque’s please-

Say no to cheque, though some colleges may except it in certain circumstances. But carrying the exact amount of cash will be appreciated .Please Note, “Exact” and don’t bug the bank for change if you want a peaceful and hassle free admission.

Little stuff to carry-

A few more essentials to carry during the time of admission , otherwise they’ll make you run hay-way –

  1. Blue/Black ball or gel pens

  2. Glue stick

  3. Stapler

  4. Whitener

Work it out-

After you are done with the filling of the form and deposition of the fees,do check with the admin office if library and college Id card forms are available so as to submit them then and there. And do not forget to take the fee receipt and keep it safely because it’ll take you a long way.

Seal The deal-

Once you have undergone all these steps, samjho kaam ho gaya.

All you need to do then is sit back and relax before the day of the orientation program arrives which officially marks the commencement of your very first day at college. And Hopefully, that‚Äôs the college you’ve burnt the midnight whole year for.
