Delhi University Girl Attacked By A Drug Addict,Girl Got 38 Stitches,Attacker Arrested

The advent of the new academic year marks the onset of another placement season, full of frenzy and enthusiasm. The placement season at Shri Ram College of Commerce began in the month of September opening to various job profiles like Consulting, Finance and Investing Banking and welcoming many reputed firms like McKinsey & Co., Deutsche Bank, Boston Consulting Group, A.T. Kearney etc. These giant companies hired the fresh talent with whopping packages of more than 15 LPA. By far now, 79 offers have already been extended to the students. This year, 5 students stole the space by getting placed in the Boston Consulting Group, a Global Managing Consulting firm and receiving the highest package which is INR 20 LPA, till now. In addition to that, the average number of offers extended to the students has also seen a hike by reputed companies including the Advisory giant,Dalberg, McKinsey & Co. And A.T. Kearney that hired 2 students each whereas Deutsche Bank offered placement to 5 people. The Big 4 companies EY, KPMG and Deloitte also paid a call on our campus and turned out to be the mass recruiters, hiring from the pool of our brilliant wizs. The Placement Cell, SRCC stands committed towards getting the best possible for the students by providing them with the most compatible platform and exposure, resolving all their queries through a digital portal which works as the supreme court for the placement process. In order to facilitate better services the Placement Cell is bent on developing its own website which will be soon fully functional. Not just that, but to maintain the authenticity of the student’s curriculum vitae and to reflect the same to recruiters, this year, the Placement Cell officially initiated its CV Vetting process. “It is heartening to see the kind of companies coming for recruitment this year, and the variety of profiles is an added bonus. We shall strive to spread this reach even further in the times to come, in our attempt to provide our students the best of opportunities”, says Vinay Jain, Chief Secretary of The Placement Cell, SRCC. The current season has already raised the bars and achieved heights and we hope to attain higher milestones in the time to come.

A 22-year-old drug addict was arrested on Saturday morning for allegedly attacking an 18-year-old Delhi University girl in the Timarpur area on Thursday afternoon in an attempt to rob her.

Around 3 p.m. on Thursday, when the victim was on her way to college and walking along a lake in Nehru Park, Sanjeet allegedly attacked her from behind. “It has been found that the accused was attempting to steal the girl’s bag. When he tried to cut it with a sharp object, she turned around and got cut,” said DCP (North) Jatin Narwal.

The victim, who had to get 38 stitches, said she had seen the man a few times in the area.
