Delhi University is all set to launch the ‘Institute of Cyber Security and Law’ in the month of September.The preparations have begun already and the admission process is also likely to begin from next month.
The Academic and Executive Council of DU has approved the institute.
“By August, the varsity will also issue a notification regarding the institute’s only ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Law’ program,” an official said.
The course is said to be Delhi University Vice Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi’s dream project.
“This course is being introduced seeing the growing demand for professionals in the cyber industry. The aim is also to have cyber security experts from DU in the international market. This programme will be the first of its kind in central and state universities in the country where international level training will be imparted to students in hacking and cyber security,” he added.
There will be six papers each and one project each in both semesters in this one year long course.40 per cent weightage will be given to practicals,40 per cent will be given to theory and 20 per cent weightage will be given to project work. A summer and winter internship will also be a part of the course.
