It has left all the viewers with dolorous eyes and gloomy smile in anticipation of seeing Sushant for one last time on-screen. The social media is flooded with overwhelming emotions from fans, lauding the innocence and charm of Manny, played by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
“Janam kab lena hai aur marna kab hai, ye hum decide nahi kar sakte. Par kaise jeena hai woh hum decide kar sakte hai.” This dialogue from the film by Sushant is being circulated widely because in an unfortunate tragic disaster he decided for himself when he had to die, and so he did. Sushant was found dead by suicide in his Bandra residence on June 14. His loss has come very personally to certain stars and fans alike.
Debutant director, Mukesh Chhabra shared a heartfelt note with the trailer on his Instagram and Twitter. Mukesh Chhabra mentioned Sushant as his ‘brother’. The two were very close friends.
As the trailer says, “an un-fairy tale,” it walks us to experience how life can be unfair sometimes, but you have to live it with hope, love and the right attitude. Dil Bechara is here to rule the hearts of people and take them on an emotional rollercoaster. Immanuel Rajkumar Junior aka Manny is an osteosarcoma survivor and Kizzie Basu is a cancer patient. Manny fills life in Kizzie and lets her breathe joy. He makes her live life at its most in the moments and not worry about what lies ahead.
“He was the one who healed her and took away her pain by celebrating each and every little moment that mattered. We miss you so much, Sushant. Thank you, for all your love, the memories, the laughter, and films.” wrote Sanjana Sanghi (who is making her debut as lead Kizzie in the film) sharing the trailer on her Instagram.
The music of the film is given by the heartwarming composer, ‘Mozart of Madras’ A.R. Rahman. It features a total of 9 tracks, penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
Dil Bechara also stars Swastika Mukherjee, Javed Jaffrey, Milind Gunaji, and Sahil Vaid in pivotal roles. Saif Ali Khan will also be seen in a cameo appearance.
Based on John Green’s 2012 bestseller, ‘Dil Bechara’ is the official remake of the 2014 Hollywood film with the same name as that of the young adult novel, ‘The Fault in Our Stars’. Adaptation of which is done by Shashank Khaitan and Suprotim Sengupta.
The film is set to celebrate love, friendship and life on the OTT platform Disney + Hotstar on 24 July with free streaming (without a subscription) to all as a tribute to the departed soul.
While Sushant’s Chichhore taught how to re-live with failures, Dil Bechara teaches us how to live every moment of life before one goes beyond it. A wise man (Rajesh Khanna in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1971 film ‘Anand’) once said “Babumoshai Zindagi badi honi chahiye, lambi nahi.”
