The online admission process is set to begin from the month of April this year.There was a lot of confusion surrounding the entry mode to Delhi University this year,students across the country were confused whether they should start preparing for the entrance exams or not but thankfully this update has resolved many such queries.
Admission to Post Graduate,M Phil and PhD courses will remain entrance based only.
The members of Academic Council and Executive Council of Delhi University have dismissed reports which earlier suggested that a proposal for UG admissions to be entrance based was put in front of the committee’s.
“Entrance exam will be held for only those courses which had an entrance exam last year.Also for PG,M Phil,PhD courses there would be an entrance exam.We’re planning to start registrations from mid april only so that students have ample time to collect their certificates required for the admission process.A number of SC-OBC students have to get their category certificates prepared and we don’t want them to run at the last moment,that’s why university is planning to give students at least a 1.5-2 months time to register.” said MK Pandit,Chairman of the Admissions Committee.
Admissions started last year from June 1 and continued till June 22.For admission to UG Courses at 57 colleges,more than 2.5 Lakh applications were received with English Honours being the most popular choice of applicants which recorded 1,15786 applications followed by courses like BA and BA (Hons) Political Science.
