DU Admissions 2018 : Cutoffs Likely To Increase This Year Making Road To Delhi University Tougher

The pass percentage in the Class XII board examination rose by 1 percentage point and the number of students scoring above 95% has increased this year according to the CBSE Class 12th Results declared yesterday.

These statistics will make it tougher for students to get admission in Delhi University this year.The number of students scoring more than 90 percent marks too is close to 12,000 in CBSE alone.

‚ÄúOf course cut-offs will increase. But by how much we can only tell after all the applications are received” a DU official was quoted as saying.

Cutoffs last year were as high as 99.66% and the trends suggest a similar show this year as well.

Pass percentage in Delhi this year was 89% which is its best in last 7 years.

The government schools in Delhi too showed a better result by increasing their pass percentage by more than 2 percentage points this year.

The examinations were topped by Meghna Srivastava from Noida who scored a 499 out of 500 marks, losing only 1 mark in the English subject.
