DU Bcom Entrance : Delhi University on Saturday announced that admission to B.Com and B.Com (Hons) course will only be made through B.Com Entrance Tests in the coming academic session.
“Hereby informed to all aspirants who desire to take admission to University of Delhi B.Com/B.Com (Hons) for the session 2018-19 that the Admissions entry for the Candidates in said courses will only be made through B.Com Entrance Tests 2018,” said a statement by University as reported by Times Now.
Till now admissions in both these courses were on the basis of marks scored by applicants in Class 12th which always raised questions over the selection process as applicants come from different examination boards and there is no uniformity in the curriculum taught.An entrance test would be a better parameter to judge an applicants calibre as all students would appear for a similar examination and hence their performance could be judged on same grounds.
“Entrance will start for the Commerce admission. But we are exploring other possibilities in other subjects” said Mr Manoj Khanna,Admissions Convenor last year in December.
Though no official announcement has come on the official website yet,the much talked about entrance examination can take place this year because the entrance test discussion has been going on for the last 3-4 years in the University.
