DU Admissions 2018 : Delhi University is considering a centralised procedure for admissions this year.Under thIS system,DU plans to develop a software which will allow applicants to select 10 colleges on the basis of their cutoffs and other given preferences.Based on provided information, the software will direct them to colleges they can apply to.The procedure will be conducted in several rounds and applicants will get multiple opportunities to choose colleges.

“This system will give applicants an opportunity to select a list of colleges based on their merit. This list will also depend on the cutoffs of these colleges. After this, an applicant can choose to fill the form of the college that matches his selection” said a member of admission committee.

“The software will save precious time of applicants….a lot of time is lost as students are unsure of their choices and have to run from one college to another” he added.

Some members of the committee are against the online counselling process due to internet connectivity, lack of internet knowledge and poor infrastructure at University’s end which may create more issues than solving some problems.

We personally feel that a system like this can’t go live in such a short period of time as we all know how the online process of admissions has turned out in the past.It creates multiple issues for the student-parent & teacher community which creates a panicking situation for all the stakeholders.
