After multiple conjectures and media reports, an official of Delhi University has said that the admissions for the undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil and PhD courses for the session of 2019, are to be announced soon.
Earlier, as per the reports, the admissions were to begin from mid-April. The dates were further postponed and till the end of April. But due to some issues, the university had postponed them further, to no particular deadline. Now, the official has stamped this news with his words.
This year, several changes have been planned in the admission scenario. The total number of seats to be offered, will be increased by 25%. This has happened after Human Resource Development Ministry had directed the educational institutions across the country to increase the number of seats. The admissions shall be conducted on the basis of entrance tests, merit and NCWEB, as would be needed by the course policies. The university is set to reduce the percentage of deduction from the best four subjects in case of change of stream. The percentage of deduction would be 2% from 5% last year.
Delhi University is one of the most preferred universities by the students across the country. The admission process witnesses lakhs of students filling up the forms, sitting for the entrances, waiting for the merit list and so on. This year too, the searches on Google about the university, are at peak.
