DU Admissions 2019 : The Delhi University has decided to keep all the 22 scheduled languages of our country as ‘academic subject’ this year. Till last year, languages such as Tamil, Malayalam, Nepalese and other Modern Indian Languages resulted in a 2.5% deduction in marks if included in the calculation of best of four score.

“CBSE has a limited definition of academic subjects. We found that in the UP board, the subject Civics is very similar to political science but since it’s not called that, there would earlier be 2.5% deduction while including it as best of four. Now, if state boards have subjects with identical or similar syllabus as courses in CBSE’s academic subjects list, we won’t do any reduction,” Admissions committee Head Rajeev Gupta told The Indian Express.
