As per Dean of Students’ Welfare, Rajeev Gupta, the reason for the drop was attributed to the ‘edit option’ introduced in the application this year. This year, DU allowed applicants to to edit and update the information without making any payment till the last day of the registration.

Not only this, another reason for the fall was the last time amendment made in the eligibility criteria due to the orders of the High Court. “We are releasing the first cut-off list only about a week later compared to last year. I doubt that made a difference,” stated Mr Gupta.
