As per the new academic calendar, Delhi University is ready to begin the new session from August 10 2020, via the online mode. Keeping that in mind, the university has approved the syllabi for four courses and asked the teachers to make the Hindi translations available for the students.
These four courses included the syllabus of Political Science, Sociology, History and English, as teachers had apprehensions on how to begin with the course this semester. Therefore, a meeting was held with the Oversight Committee on 6th August and the syllabi got approved.
According to the chairman of the committee, Maharaj Pandit, the syllabi has been approved and the departments of History, Sociology and Political Science have been asked to provide translations so that it becomes easier for the students to understand and access them.
Last year, the syllabus of these subjects received criticism with people saying that the curriculum is “pro-left”, therefore it was referred back by the executive council to the respective departments. However, now the syllabus has been approved by the committee.
