In a recent development, the University of Delhi laid the foundation of its Regional Centre (West) of School of Open Learning (SOL) in Keshavpuram on July 19. This new DU SOL is all set to begin unconventional certificate courses in 16 subjects for class 12 passed students. These courses are likely to provide an edge to the students by developing certain key skills in contemporary demand.
The 16 certificate courses being offered to students are these –

These courses have been offered keeping in mind critical skills that need to be developed. The host, Campus of Open Learning (COL, Delhi University) added these courses to the institution’s portfolio along with its existing industry training partner, RK Educational Trust. These courses are set to be offered both through online and offline modes for the academic session of 2021-22 to tackle the limitations imposed by the pandemic.
Prof. US Pandey, Principal, School of Open Learning, University of Delhi talked of how lucrative the courses are and said,
“The students may consider these DU certifications, in comparison to other private courses, since they are pocket friendly and may also be considered by various PSU’s or government jobs for its certification being DU.”
He went on to further add “The training shall be given by experienced professionals with industry-mapped topics with the help of training partners. Advantage of enrolling in these DU certifications is also open to students studying in other institutions or universities whether located in or outside Delhi”.
“There has been a sharp rise of the students learning such curricula ranging from 4 months to 10 months along with the degree programmes,” said Deepak Bansal, Director of RK Educational Group, the organization associated with the Delhi University as training partner.
Such courses are meant to broaden the creative thinking of the undertakers and will also help in building their CV providing an impetus professionally. These courses are open to all students who have qualified class 12 and also to those who have already enrolled in other institutions. Those successfully completing the course will be certified by DU.
