Hitesh Verma,a 28-year-old Sanskrit lecturer was brutally killed, allegedly by his younger brother in North Delhi’s Burari area after a heated argument.
Hitesh used to work as a Sanskrit lecturer at PGDAV College while the accused is pursuing his post-graduation from Shivaji College.
Police received a call about a body lying in a drain at around 3 AM. During the initial investigation, the police identified the deceased.
“When the deceased was identified, police team spoke to his brother who cooked up a story. He told the police that two men had barged into their house and murdered his brother,” the officer told NDTV.
However, there were loopholes in the story.Police said there was just one entrance of the house on the ground floor, where the landlord lived. However, the landlord told police that nobody had entered the house.
“Himanshu said Hitesh used to get his friends home and often asked him to go out. Hitesh was in a relationship with a girl and when he would get his girlfriend home, he would ask Himanshu to step out. Of late, he would often ask his younger brother to go out,” the police officer told NDTV.
Yesterday, Hitesh asked Himanshu to go out as he was expecting his girlfriend to come over, but they allegedly got into a fight as Himanshu refused leave as it was cold outside. The younger brother lost his temper and killed Hitesh with a dumbbell, said the officer.
