DUSU 2017 : NSUI To Launch Manifesto This Week,ABVP To Begin Campaigning Soon

The election fever at Delhi University is set to get high in the coming days as DUSU elections are coming near.t is being said that ABVP’s main focus would be on nationalism while NSUI will fight on the agenda of bringing democracy in campus.

According to media reports,ABVP is set to begin its campaigning from 17-18th August 2017 while the Congress backed NSUI,will be launching its manifesto tomorrow.

Chattra Yuva Sangharash Samiti (CYSS),the student wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), will not be contesting the varsity elections this year too. However,it will be fighting elections only at the college level.

The Left-backed AISA (All-India Students Association) will be raising issues such as freedom of speech,seat cuts and hostel.

“The election committee has been formed to look after the elections scheduled for September and the election schedule is expected to be out by August 16” a source told Asian Age.

BJP backed ABVP has been ruling DU Students Union for the past four years.

ABVP would be working on special issues related to DU such as special chance, U-special buses, discount in Metro fares, hostels, girls’ common room, and basic infrastructure.

NSUI will have three sections in its manifesto.

“The first section will be democracy and freedom of campus. Secondly, the student wing will focus on providing an equal status to all the colleges in DU such as the off-campus colleges.Thirdly, they want Delhi University fees to be reduced and made equal for all the colleges. Apart from this, the issues of university special bus, Metro fare, and hostel will also be in focus,” a source told Asian Age.
