DUSU Secretary Mahamedhaa Nagar May Lose Her Post Over Low Attendance

Delhi University Student’s Union Secretary Mahamedhaa Nagar may lose her post over low attendance issue.She has been named in the list of students who have been detained for having low attendance in her first semester at Law Faculty,which means she will not be given an admit card to sit in the semester exams.

According to the rules,a Law Faculty student must attend at least 70% of lectures,including moot courts and tutorials conducted or taught in a semester to be eligible to sit for the semester exams.

Ved Kumari,Dean of Law Faculty told Times of India that “over 250 students have been included in the detention list as their attendance did not meet the required 70% as prescribed by the Bar Council of India”. She also added that first year students who doesn’t meet the criteria will lose studentship of Law Faculty as per the rules.

Mahamedhaa Nagar has given a representation,which is currently under consideration by the admission committee.

The rules say that a candidate who loses studentship of the university is ineligible to hold DUSU office.
