The winning team, Enactus SRCC presented their projects in the Water and Handicrafts sector.
Project Virasat, moulding the vessels of hope defined their journey to transform the Thatheras of Jandiala Guru, known for hammering brass and copper utensils back from mere labourers to proud craftsmen. In a matter of just 10 months, they have managed to improve the conditions of 11 Thatheras who were previously being exploited at the hands of the middlemen. Their other project, Asbah : Every drop a promise aims to provide clean drinking water to the underprivileged section of the society through contaminant specific filtration mechanism. Through this, they are impacting more than 1000+ families everyday.
This experience was enriching and informative, as they competed and learnt from all the participating teams. They will now be representing India at the World Cup, being held in California from 9-11 October, taking India’s culture and art forms to a global platform, leading a way and light of hope for our country’s dying heritage.
