The people of Delhi¬†on Sunday¬†got a pristine taste of the Assamese culture as it played host to “Bohagi Utsav 2018” at Shankar Lal Auditorium near North Campus. The mood was upbeat with a heavy presence of who’s who of Assam’s diaspora here in Delhi.

With the attendance of students from the state studying in various colleges and universities across the Capital, the occasion was an echo of what Rongali Bihu, the new year festival of Assam, represents. Packed to the capacity, the crowd was left mesmerized by engaging performances which included husori, fusion dance, rendition of modern versions of classics by Jayanta Hazarika and Bihu Samrat Khagen Mahanta. The cherry on top was the audience grooving to the tunes of the Assamese singing sensation, Neel Akash.
