The misinterpretation in media representation is causing huge disruption.

The protest comes as a response against the repetitive violence which ultimately caused a huge disruption in the Singhu border yesterday when the locals surpassed the layers of police barricades to pelt stones at the protesting farmers and vandalize their tents. The locals reasoned that the farmers were disrupting their lives and were a mockery for disrespecting the nation on the Republic Day. Both sides threw stones at each other, the Delhi Police later said that 44 people, including a 22-year-old man who allegedly attacked a sub-inspector with a sword, were arrested. There is a heavy security deployment at the Singhu border to mitigate any form of violence.

The pursuit of the farmers today is to make the mass reidentify the true cause of rebellion and to show solidarity to them. The protest will gain strength, revolutionize and mobilize more farmers to join the movement. More farmers from Delhi and Haryana will join the existing farmers in the capital in the upcoming days. Thousands of farmers gathered at Muzaffarnagar for a Kisan mahapanchayat and announced that they will begin heading towards the Ghazipur border today. The UP authorities have deployed high levels of security to avoid any raucous in the sin-in protest. Both carriageways of NH-24, to and from Ghaziabad and Ghazipur border, have been closed. Internet services have been suspended at the Ghazipur border and its adjoining areas.
