If you get the chance to be a part of a coveted Dramatics Society, you are in for loads of fun for the remaining years of your college life. DramSoc is like a family. A bond that the members of this society share cannot be simply put into words. Our friendship is not just restricted to the no. of hours we practice. The love and compassion shared by the members of this society for their teammates is indefinite in every way.
In today’s world, where hardly anyone projects their real-self, Dramatics gives us a way out of it. Leaving the judgemental world aside, we step into a completely non-judgemental sacred zone where no one has the right to look down upon their fellow team member, allowing everyone to be their true self! Waking up every morning does not seem to be a tedious task anymore, when it’s for the society. No doubt, that the work is extremely tough. The directors have a no-nonsense attitude towards any member while practicing. We are made to do the same things more than 10 times if it doesn’t come out to be perfect. ‘Almost’ is not even a word in the DramSoc dictionary. But after all the strenuous training, the sense of accomplishment we feel, when we wear our society kurtas for the first time, makes everything worth the time and effort. Moreover, most of the times this monotony doesn’t seem boring for some reason. There’s an invisible energy which pulls us and makes us want to go to our team. Every single morning. The sheer sense of joy of standing with our team, in that huddle is unmatchable.
For anyone, who wishes to be a writer, singer, musician, dancer, stand-up comedian, director, actor or anything related to media- DramSoc is a step towards your calling. For everyone else, it will give you the kind of friends you always dreamt about before entering College, and memories for the rest of your life, making your 3 years of College, the best part of this mortal journey.
