Incepted in September 2012, ‘The Finance and Investment Cell’ of Hindu College, a student run society personifies the belief of ‘Knowledge is Power’. They focus on spreading awareness and knowledge regarding financial and economic affairs. Over the years, with the aim to push zealous students to put on their thinking hats and get a flavour of the real world, the F&IC has organized stimulating events that encourage participation and analysis in a wide range of issues that affect the economy.
Through the years the society having made a statement in the F&IC circuit, takes pride in a strong offline college footprint, vast online outreach and a rich alumni network.
In 2017, the society hosted two highly acclaimed business festivals- Colloquium and The Financial District, which included speaker and networking sessions among F&ICs across DU and events such as a football team auction under Manager Mode, calculative decision-making under Prisoner’s Dilemma and a 24 hour online cryptic hunt leading to a case study ¬†under Decrypt, inviting participants across the country.
This year, the society is back on the event calendar with the second edition of its flagship finance festival- ENIGMA, curating an even wider variety of events for all finance enthusiasts.
The two-day fest is scheduled for the 25th and the 26th of March comprising both online and offline events. The Virtual Street, an online mock stock simulation to be held on the first day, aims to test the depth of one’s astuteness and analytical skills pertaining to the stock market. The second is set to offer four offline events lined up. ¬†Identity theft, an event revolving around the practice of embezzlement, would find participants stealing identities and fortunes to fill up their coffers. Drawing inspiration from the original board game, the event ‚ÄòBattleships‚Äô would test the budgeting and negotiation skills of the participants. Apart the two main finance-centric events, F&IC Hindu is all set to conduct a simulation of FIFA 18 video game on a 10 feet LED screen in an outdoor setting. Concluding its list of events, the society will conduct a life-size version of the board game-The Game of Life with a twist of investment in ideal crimes and establishing underground crime syndicate.
