For the first time ever, Delhi University barred more than 50 students from fitness tests and trials, for admission under sports quota, this Friday. These students had appeared for cricket fitness test in Polo ground for Taekwondo in Aryabhatta College.
The students were told that their certificates were scanned and they had not qualified for the fitness tests and they should have checked the current status of their applications online. But it was nowhere mentioned in the university information bulletin.
The applicants this year were required to fill up a centralised form for the sports admission and upload three merit certificates with it.
Some of the applicants had all the required certificates yet they were ineligible for the trials. While the others question that how were their forms accepted without necessary documents.
Seeing this, National Students Union of India (NSUI) held a protest against the university and has also submitted an application to the officials of sports council.
