The High Court today gave Delhi University one more week to verify the degree of newly elected DUSU President – Ankiv Baisoya. The court has scheduled the next hearing to 20th November 2018.
The enquiry led by KTS Sarao hasn’t been able to complete the verification process required to legally prove Ankiv Baisoya’s degree to be fake. There are also reports which indicate that Delhi University hasn’t paid the verification fees at Thiruvalluvar University till now.
“The DUSU election process and it’s aftermath underscore the complete institutional capture of DU by BJP and it’s affiliates. After disregarding blatant or record violence by ABVP VP candidate,Shakti Singh, mysteriously malfunctioning EVM’s,DU admin is trying to procrastinate and deliberate delay verification enquiry of AnKiv Baisoya’s fake certificate, so that the period of 2 month from the delay of declaration of election result could pass and re- election deliberately avoided to unduly benefit the ABVP.However the only purpose being served by these dilatory tactics is the shred the credibility of the Delhi University administration.Lyngdoh Committee Guidelines are just that guidelines and are only advisory in nature.Furthermore, even as per the Lyngdoh Guidelines date of removal will commence from when the fake certificate from Thiruvalluvar committee first came to light not when DU administration disqualifies or is forced to disqualify by the judiciary Ankiv Baisoya.” said Ruchi Gupta, National Incharge of NSUI & Joint Secretary of All India Congress Committee.
“The Delhi University administrative have shown themselves to be in service of a common fraud in ensuring a high level of education that DU as been associated with in the past, the authorities instead are exposing themselves to be servile to the interest of thugs and cheats. The NSUI is committed to taking the legal proceedings to it’s logical end- having Ankiv Baisoya disqualified and calling for fresh election” she added.
