Bacchanalia’18 is now a memory, afresh in our minds with recurrent flashes of the garish vibrancy, the unmindful celebration and the ceaseless flow of literature. The Department of English was at the acme of its eccentricity as the festivities began with our thematically appropriate d√©cor, and the visage of the college imbued by it.

Evolution of the event continued as we integrated “Mi-Meme-Sis,” a meme making competition wherein the creativity, latent or otherwise, of the participants was unleashed.

The litterateurs among us indulged their trivia in a battle of wits and wiz in “Les Quizerables- the Literature Quiz.” Also, for the sapiophiles, there was the “Paper Presentation” that lay witness to the academic intellectuals and the scholars presenting their enriching and thought provoking academic papers.

Our traditional “Karaoke” saw people funneling into the event to exercise those vocals for the pleasure, or sometimes displeasure, of the listeners. One thing that was a highlight of our participants was their welcoming spirit of self deprecation which set them, and consequently the event, apart.

“Remembering The North- The Game of Thrones Treasure Hunt” was every ‘Game of Thrones’ fanatics’ fantasy come to fruition as the college campus was their Westeros and they the scions of their Houses.

Patronage to poets was our noble motive in “Treble with Words,” our beat poetry event. The secretively scenic and languidly verdant surroundings to the Bharat Ram Centre provided the, dare we say it, perfect stage for modern poetry to be recited, heard and appreciated.

We did not, however, betray our roots as the “Yard Sale” was at the centre of all the tumult and chaos, which did not undercut the core of this event- literature.
