Letter To The Friends Who Think I Let Them Go

Dear friend,

Well, it’s been quite some time since we’ve¬†talked to each other. Don’t blame me (or even yourself for that matter) for it. It isn’t our fault. It’s the fault of the situation we are in. When we were together, our lives only revolved around each other. All we had to care about was us. With passing time we met new people and made new friends. All the attention that we used to give to each other had to be distributed among the new people who came into our lives. No, we didn’t change our priority. It’s just that a few more priorities got added into our lives.

Some or the other time we must have told each other to ‘remain the same.’ But my question to you is that if you ask a caterpillar to ‘remain the same’, how is it ever going to understand the joy of flying as a butterfly? Changes are inevitable my friend. Life just moves on. Now it depends on us to choose to live in the past or the present. I urge you to do the latter my friend. That will lead to a happy life.

If in the process of fitting-in in my ‘new’ life I forget to call you or text you, do not think I’ve let you go. You will always be in my heart. You should know that you are still important to me and that I will be there for you whenever you need me.

With lots of love,
the friend who can never let you go.
