When it comes to boys taking admission in Delhi University, they are at a disadvange. The reason behind this is that Delhi University offers only limited subjects to male aspirants.Subjects such as Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Geography and Home Science are generally available in girls colleges, leaving the boys with limited option of seeking admission in these colleges.

Home Science which is considered a subject often picked by girls is now picked by boys as well because this subject is useful for boys who wish to pursue Hotel Management and Nutrition Management but the course is available at only one girls college in Delhi University.

“There’s no doubt that there has been an increase of boys taking admission in these courses. Hence, DU will increase the seats in co-education colleges and will also look into the increasing demand of these courses” says Shougaijm Somorendro Singh, Deputy Dean of Students Welfare Department.
