Not coming with a very good news this time but all of us have to face the reality. Just like previous years this year too , the trend hasn’t been broken and social science seats have been filling up the fastest. Political science and history closes at several colleges.Admissions to political science have been closed at Hindu, Sri Venkateswara,Maitreyi and Aurobindo (morning).History would draw to a close at Kirorimal and IPCW.
The bright side is that there is going to be a second list for popular courses like Economics and Commerce at most colleges . However there will be only a slight drop in the cut offs.Admissions for all courses would be open at LSR,Miranda house,Kamla Nehru,Dayal Singh.
Among science courses , several colleges closed admissions in biology based programmes such as Botany , Zoology and Life sciences. Physics , Chemistry,Mathematics and physical sciences would still be open at most colleges. There would surely be a second cut off for these courses , but the seats left would be less.
Ramanujan College is the only college that has closed admissions for both Bcom and Bcom (H) general category.Till Friday SRCC approved admissions of 339 candidates and the number would have increased by now, out of which 75%-80% students who have secured admission are from Tamil Nadu.
The drop is going to be marginal and a maximum of only one percentage fall could be seen , which is not going to bring much relief to the students.
