DU Admission 2020: Registration of Maharaja Agrasen College’s Advanced Diploma in TV Program and News Production Begins

Maharaja Agrasen College under the University of Delhi, has started the registration process for the admissions of Advanced Diploma in TV Program and News Production.

The college recently released an admission notice commencing the application registration process for the 2-year Diploma course. The notice also stated that the process of registration will continue till January 15th, 2021.

Maharaja Agrasen College or MAC, is a Delhi University college situated in Delhi’s Vasundhara Enclave. Being one of the only two co-ed colleges of DU that offer courses in Journalism, the college and its students have made a good name for themselves field.

In accordance to the DU and UGC guidelines, all students that have attained an education/skill level of 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized board or university Or Level-4 NSQF, are deemed eligible for the course.

The application registration process for the course has begun and will go on till Friday, January 15th. The course offers 63 seats, out of which 25 are unreserved while the rest 38 are reserved for various categories; 17 for OBC (Other Backward Communities), 10 for SC (Scheduled Castes), 5 for ST (Schedule Tribes), and 6 for EWS (Economically Weaker Section). Apart from this, another 5% (supernumerary) seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

The Admission Process is as follows –

  1. Students are required to fill the registration form available on the college’s official website
  2. Documents required:
  3. Class 10th Marksheet along with Passing Certificate
  4. Class 12th (10+2) Marksheet along with Passing Certificate
  5. TC/Migration Certificate
  6. Relevant SC/ST/OBC/EWS certificate issued by the competent authority in the name of the candidate. Details of the issuing authority and validity shall as per the Information Bulletin issued by the University of Delhi, as stated on du.ac.in
  7. Cut-off percentage and detailed admission schedule will be notified on the College’s official website.
  8. Registration Fee: ₹ 250/- for Unreserved & OBC candidates and ₹ 100/- for SC/ST & EWS candidates.

Duration and Details

The diploma is a 2-year long course and is divided into 4 semesters. Being based on the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), the students have the choice of multiple entries and exit points throughout the course.

This enables the students to seek employment after any level of certification and join back as and when feasible to upgrade her / his qualification. Students can attain these certifications at the end of the first and second semesters respectively.

The fees for the course, as per the Maharaja Agrasen College’s official notice, has been mentioned as ₹ 17,500/- per semester.

Syllabus

According to Maharaja Agrasen College officials and teachers, the syllabus of this course has been designed to equip the students with an intellectual and interdisciplinary approach that prepares them for the Industry. The learning process aims to strike a balance between the theoretical and practical approach to the field and enable the students to create a foyer in the market of contention.

The officials further stated that the Syllabus of the course will be in alignment with the National Occupational Standard of the Sector Skills Council and NVEQF / NSQF. The syllabus has been developed in consultation with the industry professionals, academicians & media & entertainment sector skill council.
