New Lockdown Rules In Maharashtra Till 30th April

In this rising surge of COVID-19, the country is again facing atrocities of restrictions imposed by the states. With this second wave of infection, but simultaneous launch of the medicine, the cases are still reaching numbers. Maharashtra has been the most infected state in this second wave and its government has revised the restrictions on the state. Following are the revised guidelines and restrictions:

OVERALL RESTRICTIONS
  1. Section 144 is to be implemented throughout the day (between 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.) – Not more than 5 people are allowed to gather at one place.
  2. No one except in case of emergencies and the medical staff will be allowed on the roads without a valid reason between 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on weekdays. Complete lockdown of the state is announced for the above mentioned hours.
  3. The state will impose weekend lockdown from Friday evening to Monday morning.
  4. All schools, colleges, and educational institutions will remain shut except for board classes i.e class 10th and class 12th.
  5. Housing societies with more than 5 cases will be sealed for outsiders.
PROFESSIONAL RESTRICTIONS
  1. Private offices and staff should work entirely from home.
  2. Manufacturing industries and manufacturing sector is allowed to work following the precautions and guidelines.
  3. Banks, stock markets, insurance, pharmaceuticals, telecom, electricity, water services, agriculture and transportation of commodities are allowed.
  4. Government staff will work at 50% strength except workers who are involved with healthcare and COVID related services.
  5. E-Commerce deliveries are allowed between 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. All delivery staff is to be vaccinated compulsorily.
  6. Daily wage workers are allowed paid leaves if they test positive.
RELIGIOUS AND RECREATIONAL RESTRICTIONS
  1. Public places like beaches, parks, etc. will not operate between weekday night curfew hours.
  2. Except for grocery, pharmacy, vegetable and fruit vendors, all types of shops, malls, salons, spas will remain closed till 30th April.
  3. All cinemas, sports complexes, multiplexes, swimming pools and public auditoriums will remain shut down.
  4. All religious places will remain closed.
  5. Restaurants and bars will be closed. Takeaways and deliveries are allowed between 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. However, restaurants as a part of hotels and resorts can serve guests staying in the hotel, not outsiders.
  6. Street food businesses are allowed to takeaway between 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
TRANSPORT RESTRICTIONS
  1. Public and private transports can run at 50% capacity.
  2. No extra passengers are allowed in the buses/local trains, etc.

The above mentioned restrictions are imposed as a part of new rules. Maharashtra is taking strict steps and measures to take precautions against COVID-19.
