Fairoz Khan, the National President of Congress backed student group – National Students Union of India has resigned over sexual harassment charges made against him.The charges were made by a female party worker few months back.The resignation was submitted on Monday.
According to sources, his resignation has been accepted by the Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress party formed a three party committee to look into the matter after allegations of sexual harassment were made against him.The committee members included All India Mahila Congress President Sushmita Dev, Lok Sabha Member Deepender Hooda and National Media Panelist Ragini Nayak.The panel submitted its report on Friday.
The party worker alleged that Fairoz  “used to sexually harass young women” for political appointments in the party.She also lodged a complaint at the Parliament Street Police Station in Delhi, saying that she feared for her life.
