Permission To Conduct Seminar On BR Ambedkar Withdrawn At Last Minute By Cluster Innovation Centre

Delhi University’s Cluster Innovation Centre¬†allegedly withdrew the permission yesterday to conduct a seminar on B R Ambedkar which was supposed to take place today in commemoration of Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th April 2018.

The seminar ‘B.R Ambedkar’s Idea of India, Dalit Empowerment and its Challenges’ was scheduled to take place today.

Manoj Jha-Rajya Sabha MP and RJD National Spokesperson,Bal Gangadhar Baghi-JNU Research Scholar and Harish Gautam-a Dalit activist were invited as speakers at the event.

“My programme coordinator today informed me about denial of permission and at around 2 pm the CIC director told me we cannot hold this event. Instead he asked us to participate in the event which the university is conducting on April 14 in which Union Social Justice Minister was taking part, ” one of the organisers Nishant told PTI.

“They don’t want that his ideas should reach the masses and are against any dialogue on the issue of caste,” Nishant alleged and questioned the “abruptness”.
