According to a Times of India report,Delhi University is investigating what appears to be a major admission scam which happened during 2017-18 admissions.A number of colleges,Principals and college authorities are under the scanner for their involvement in the alleged scam.
The University will ask the colleges to cancel admissions of all those students who are identified by the investigation committee as fake admission seekers.Colleges like Swami Shraddhanand College and Shivaji College are currently under the scanner of committee but it won’t be a surprise if names of other top colleges also crops up.
“We will get to know how widespread the admission malpractices were only after the probe is completed. We have identified a number of colleges where apparently admissions were conducted through unfair means.”¬†a senior DU official told Times of India.
The matter turned serious when the President of Swami Shraddhanand College was suspended earlier this month after it was found that his admission happened through fraud.

The officials are willing to check the admissions which took place before 2016 as well provided they receive complaints for the same.
“While in some cases, the certificates are fake, in others, even the issuing authority is. Discrepancies have also been found in admissions based on cutoff as students with lower aggregates have made it to colleges,” the DU official told Times of India.
