On Thursday, an Internal Committee of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences recommended the removal of a senior professor after finding him guilty of sexual harassment based on allegations made by a former student.
In October 2018, the complainant, who completed her masters course in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations at TISS during the period of 2004-2006, narrated  several incidents of sexual misconduct by the professor on social media. In her social media posts, she accused the professor and academic advisor for abusing his power and sexually harassing her during the last few months of college.
As reported by The Times of India, the committee has recommended the removal of the Professor from the Institute within a month and a show-cause notice has been sent to the Professor seeking his response on allegations within two weeks. However, the institute is yet to reaffirm the findings of panel.
