SRCC Students Protest Against Professor’s Assault & College’s Inaction

More than 100 students of the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce organized a sit-in protest on Saturday against the inaction of college authorities regarding the assault college professor Mr Ashwani Kumar few weeks back.The protest was attended by faculty members and alumni as well.

Mr Ashwani Kumar, was assaulted by Pardeep Phogat,a GBO student at SRCC allegedly over the issue of low marks granted in examinations.An FIR was registered in this very matter but the disciplinary committee of SRCC is yet to take any action in this regard.

The protest had the permission of principal and was well promoted through social media platforms and class groups.

The protesting students signed a letter in which they demanded expulsion of the accused student from Delhi University and police investigation into this matter.The letter was submitted to college authorities.
