Internship Season 2018-2019 successfully concluded with some great associations. The students undertook summer internships in various sectors, some of which are Consultancy, Finance, Human Resources, Software Development, Web Development, Data Analytics, Deep Learning, Marketing, and Business Development at firms like Goldman Sachs, RocSearch, CBRE, PwC, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, Boston Consulting Group, Duff & Phelps, Grant Thornton, Willis Towers  Watson, Accenture, Niti Aayog, Grofers, Emerging India Value Advisory, Nielsen, etc.

The leading investment banking firm, Goldman Sachs, associated with the college in the Internship Season 2018-19. This was a proud moment for CBS fraternity as this marked the first time that Goldman Sachs visited University of Delhi for hiring interns. Furthermore, KPMG hired interns through campus engagement for the first time post the KPMG Innovation and Collaboration Challenge (KICC), the semi-finals of which were held in SSCBS premises.

Career Development Centre (CDC), the Placement Cell of SSCBS also organized an internship session for the first and second-year students with a footfall of over 500 students. The session focused on teaching them more about internship processes, reading job descriptions and a certain sense of professionalism. The session also helped them to get familiar with the significance and the importance of internships.

The Placement Cell of SSCBS has always been actively contributing towards the holistic development of students by enhancing their skills and knowledge. For this purpose, CDC created an interlink among the first, second and third year students by organizing numerous learning and placement – preparation oriented sessions. These sessions were taken by the students placed at various firms such as Bain Capability Network, Deloitte, Hopp, Boston Consulting Group, etc. The students were guided with respect to the placement processes – resume shortlisting, group discussion and personal interview rounds of different companies. From building a quantitative/qualitative resume to cracking case studies, handling guesstimates, providing sources of preparation, etc. the session prepared the second-year students sitting in the upcoming placement season.

CDC aims at providing the best possible opportunities to the students by giving them a thriving platform and an early corporate exposure. Hence, CDC has taken the initiative of preparing a comprehensive document for the students sitting for placements next year by collecting data from the students who already appeared in the processes this year. The document entails job descriptions, placement processes, questions asked during different rounds, technical and HR, etc. CDC is also facilitating a project called “The Buddy Project” wherein the second-year students have been allotted a third-year student as their mentor to guide them about the placements.

CDC continued its initiative of helping students crack useful placement related questions by regularly posting answers in their ‘#BhaiPlaced’ Section. Like every year, CDC also conducted resume authentication programs to constantly keep a check on the information included in resumes and make sure that only authentic details go through to the companies.

Career Development Centre yet again raised the bar by escalating its performance and achieving the highest average package across the University of Delhi. With many ambitious projects, initiatives, extensive training and development sessions lined up, CDC aims at raising the college stature through placements and adding more feathers in its cap in the upcoming Placement Season 2019- 20!
