The students started the protest again from 17th September 2018.They allege that they were walking towards the VC office through Gate No. 5 when they were blocked by the security guards and Delhi Police who in the name of stopping, manhandled them. The students allege that even female students were manhandled by male police officers with one of the students being detained at the police station for more than six hours being asked to call off the protest.

Now the students have decided to sit on an indefinite hunger strike until and unless DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi comes to meet the students with solutions to their problems.
