Amidst all the chaos going on around, the world has been quite ignorant about the recent bushfires going on in Australia. the fires are caused every year due to extreme hot and dry spells but it cannot be compared to the widespread devastation that has been caused this year.
This is just the beginning of summer in Australia and about 14.7 million of acres of land has been burnt, around 24 people are confirmed dead, 500 million animals are dead of which 8000 are koalas, 1300 homes are destroyed and thousands of people have become homeless. The worse is yet to come and there is no relief from the disaster until march at least.
Remember the time when delhi turned into a gas chamber previous year in November when air quality reached “hazardous” levels? Australia is currently breathing 11 times the “hazardous” quality of air!
This is the largest ever evacuation of Australia and thousands of people are being evacuated, but many are still trapped. A $1.39 Billion fund was unveiled by the Prime Minister of Australia to provide relief to the communities whose shelters were hit by the fires.
