A FIR has been filed in a case of theft at the women’s hostel of Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce.
According to a college official, the theft took place during the afternoon on September 12, the day on which the Delhi University Students Union elections were held. An outsider entered the college hostel, stealing money and debit cards from the room of two students.The same person later withdrew Rs 45,000 from the bank account of one of the victims before she could block her debit card.
DCP (North) Monika Bharadwaj filed the case and said, “We examined the CCTV footages and found some girl entering the room. We have registered a case and are trying to identify the culprit.”
Because of this particular incident, the college has beefed up security inside the campus.
