Though,a lot of students might not be interested in departmental and society events or academic meets,almost every student waits for the annual cultural fest in his/her college and equally for the annual cultural fest of different colleges.These cultural fests have a number of competitions from dance to music,from drama to slam poetry,there’s a lot for every artist out there in colleges.These fests also have star studded celeb nights where popular singers,DJ’s,actors perform on the stage.Also,not to forget that college festivals are a heaven for foodies,lots and lots of good food options at a single place for 2-3 days.

The number of colleges is more than 60 in Delhi University and the fest season lasts for a 2-3 month period so practically its impossible for any student to every college fest happening in the University.So,here we bring you a list of Top 10 College Festivals which should be on your ‘Must attend list’ this year.

1. Crossroads-Shri Ram College of Commerce

There’s a close fight between Hindu’s Mecca and SRCC’s Crossroads everywhere but SRCC wins the battle everytime hands down.With a great number of sponsors lined up to fund the fest,SRCC gets the best artists to perform on campus on all the 3 days every year.This festival attracts a huge footfall as well.There have been a number of instances in the past where police had to resort to Lathi Charge as well to stop the crowd.From Atif Aslam to Shankar Ehsaan Loy and from DJ Chetas to Farhan Akhtar,this festival has witnessed it all.

2. Mecca-Hindu College

Mecca comes a close second and never fails to disappoint every year.The cultural fest of Hindu College-Mecca is a potpourri of musical events,dance recitals,fashion walks,games,food and of course star nights.This festival has been graced by the presence of stars like Vishal Shekhar,Rekha Bhardwaj and Sukhwinder Singh in the past.You definitely can’t afford to miss this one.

3. Nexus-Sri Venkateswara College

Nexus for long has been recognized as a premier cultural festival of Delhi University and still it continues to draw high levels of talent and participation from colleges and institutes across Delhi-NCR.The Battle of Bands and One Act Theatre are much awaited events every year.The fest has been graced by Kailash Kher,Sunidhi Chauhan,Nizami Brothers,Raghu Dixit Project and Mohit Chauhan in the past.

4. Tarang-Lady Shri Ram College For Women

Tarang,the annual cultural fest of Lady Shri Ram College is one of the major college festivals which marks the beginning of fest season every year.The fest witnesses a very exclusive crowd and attracts some of the best people in the business every year.Last year,the fest had Kenny Sebastian and Kanika Kapoor in attendance and this year the festival had Rahul Bose,Ratna Pathak Shah and Leena Yadav in attendance.The fest also saw a performance from Lost Stories,a popular name in the EDM circuit of India.

5. Reverie-Gargi College

Reverie-Gargi College kick started the fest season this year and made sure LSR couldn’t maintain its record of being the first major college festival to happen every year.This year’s version of Reverie had the singing sensation Monali Thakur in attendance with performances from bands like Arzz Band,Unplugged Band and Faridkot.DJ Candice Redding & DJ Myris also took the crowd by storm on Reverie’s EDM night.The inaugural ceremony was graced by Barkha Dutt and a lovely piano performance by Aman Bathla who hold the record of being the world’s fastest pianist.

6. Montage-Jesus & Mary College

Montage is the annual cultural festival of Jesus & Mary College.Its one of the most popular and awaited festivals among South Campus students who make it a point not to miss Montage every year.Montage in the past had celebrity performances from the likes of Jasleen Royal and The Local Train.

7. Confluence-Hansraj College

Confluence is the annual cultural fest of Hansraj College.The evenings at Confluence see cultural performances by popular names that leave everyone mesmerized.In the past,stars like Honey Singh and Diljit Dosanjh have performed at this festival but they both made who made the crowd wait for hours and left after a short performance.Lets hope,the experience would be better this year.Last year,Confluence clashed with SRCC’s Crossroads and was able to create a dent in Crossroads footfall numbers as they had Diljit Dosanjh on campus.

8. Tempest,Miranda House

The annual cultural fest of Miranda House is looked up to every year with a lot of excitement as it hosts one of the best star performances in campus.It caters to a wide variety of audience as well as participants from top institutes all over the country.In the past,the fest had Sona Mohapatra,Raeth Band,Sanam Band,Shakti and Neeti Mohan in attendance.

9. Mosaic-Ramjas College

Mosaic is the annual cultural fest of Ramjas College.Though,not a very popular festival in North Campus,Mosaic never fails to attract crowd in large numbers with an equally high level of talent for its various competitions on campus.In the past Fawad Khan,Alia Bhatt,Sidharth Malhotra and Anushka Manchanda have attended this festival.

10. Manjari-Daulat Ram College

Manjari isn’t very well known in the college festival circuit but the college always makes sure the festival gets a high footfall and the performances remain upto the mark.Last year,Punjabi music sensation Guru Randhawa and Tulsi Kumar,daughter of Gulshan Kumar performed at Manjari and the crowd went back home happy.
